The 2006 Chess Olympiad was held from 20 May to 6 June in Turin. It was the 37th edition organised by the International Chess Federation and included an open and a women’s section. The open section saw the participation of 148 teams representing 143 countries, while 106 teams representing 102 countries took part in the women’s section.

Dialogue International was responsible for the English translation of the website, newsletters and news feeds as well as playing a part in the actual organisation of the event.
